(B.A.D.) A Thought for Tuesday

“There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.” –Aristotle

How true is this?  If we do, say and be nothing, how empty would we really be?  Criticism isn’t a bad thing.  It’s someone pointing out what they feel is a mistake you’re making.  Maybe it’s not a mistake at all.  Maybe it’s just their opinion.  Maybe it stops you in your tracks, and redirects the way you’re thinking.  Maybe it prevents a future disaster…

Sitting alone, doing nothing is not living.  Go out, make a difference in someone else’s life, do something productive, make someone feel good, even if it’s your expense, volunteer, raise awareness for a cause, the possibilities are endless.  But by avoiding criticism, you’re robbing yourself of living life.  Life that has the potential to be awesome.

You’re stronger than you think.  A few harsh words, opinion or reality, are not going to slow you down.  You have an idea, a goal.  Use criticism as a means to get you to that goal instead of allowing it to deter you.  Use it to your advantage, allow it to further motivate you; not cripple you into a tightly wound ball of insecurities and self doubt!  Go out there and LIVE!!!

Until next time…
