Do you — or did you ever — have a Best Friend? Do you believe in the idea of one person whose friendship matters the most? Tell us a story about your BFF (or lack thereof).
I can’t be too detailed, as she is a private person. We met when I was in the junior high and she was in the senior high. She was dating my brother. We clicked instantly!! In fact, since I deleted my facebook account, she is the only one who has managed to keep in touch. Even though she’s got 5 kids, she’s an ARMY wife and constantly moving, she finds the time to call or write to make sure I’m okay. She is, has been and will always be my best friend, and she knows this.
Her oldest daughter just came for a visit. I love seeing any of them!! I miss them all so much. I swear, when things settle down on my end, I’m going out for a visit. I’d gladly take a week off of blogging to go visit!!
So, as old as I am, I do in fact have one or two friends that have remained close over the years. I also have a few (actually just one) that I’ve kicked to the curb. I was stabbed in the back in such a way, friendship wasn’t something I trusted for a very long time. But she’s long gone, and Kelly has more than made up for it! She’s more like my sister than my friend.
So Kelly, if you read this, know that I love you; your my absolute best friend and I don’t ever want to lose you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for having my back and standing your ground; for not sugarcoating things when everyone else felt the need. Thank you for being the best friend a girl could have!! I love you and your family with all of my heart!! ❤
